Kinja'd!!!

So I bundled up to walk the dog this morning, and I couldn't help but notice that I resembled one of those generic looking anime/cartoon characters. The ones where you can't see their eyes, only their nose and mouth, to create a talking role that doesn't distract from the main cast. It's like they all intentionally wear the hats too low.

Phone says 7 F, my car said 4 F. My dog likes to take her sweet time going the bathroom, which is why I bundled up. After the dog walking, i wear it to the car (then remove it), so I have warm articles of clothing incase I get in a car accident or get stuck in a ditch (never again!).

I try to think/plan ahead, :).

You are wise ZTP. In winter I usually make several road trips, and ALWAYS travel with a few extra blankets in the car as well as gloves. You never know where you could get stuck, and you really really don't want to get too cold. It's also not a bad idea to pack a few things in the car like granola bars that can be eaten cold and don't go bad.

I also carry a small shovel, although this year we haven't gotten much snow here in Ottawa, it has just been cold as all get out.

Was -12F this morning, once again!!! I really am looking forward to seeing positive temperatures in the mornings again. During the day it has been getting up to 5F or so pretty consistently, but at night it's just brutal man.

Hahaha, I learned from experience. Last winter I was stuck on the side of the road, with no power. Had over a hour wait time for the tow truck. It was about 10 F. After that, I decided to keep blankets in the trunk from then on (which turned out great when I got stuck again with no power like a month later! Stupid black ice!!!).

Right now I have a shovel in the car, plus some gloves. And recently I've been wearing boots to drive to work, then changing to work shoes once I arrive.

Also a good idea, a pop/soda bottle. If you're stuck for a while, you'll need to relieve yourself. Trust me on this, lol. I keep a bottle in the car for that very reason, :).

That is a good point I will keep in mind actually I hadn't thought about the pop bottle.

I discovered it because I was desperate (two cups of coffee!), and since I'm a bit of a slob, I had a bottle in the car.

Though a note, I used a Mtn Dew 22 Oz bottle, which is pretty much good for one go only. But since it was filled completely up, it's a great hand warmer!

I have a post in draft form, that I've been meaning to finish, that talks about what I did to "survive", plus some tips. I really need to finish that, hmmm...

You should finish it up. Winter survival is no joke.

You're right it isn't. I'll need to clean the post up and make it straight-foward and coherent.
